Agents and Organisers Association AGM and D66

3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 20th Sep 2004

Today the Liberal Democrats Agents and Organisers Association, of which I am a member, held its Annual General Meeting. The main business of the meeting, including me being re-elected to the Executive, was over relatively fast and then we were addressed by the Chief Executive of our Dutch sister party - D66.

D66 are very similar to the Liberal Democrats in their outlook and their Chief Executive was very interesting, she and a number of the members are over to visit our conference and see if they can pick up any tips - indeed two of their members attended my training session this morning!

At the end of the Chief Executive's remarks I suggested that after next year's General Election a group of the Agents and Organisers Association should go over to the Netherlands and have an 'action' weekend where we can help over there. A number of people agreed there and then and I think the D66 members were very pleased judging by their reaction.
