No Weapons of Mass Destruction - Official

10.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 7th Oct 2004

The Iraq Survey Group has now reported. It has said that there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, given that this was the basis for going to war in Iraq it would appear the British, and America, public was lied to. The report concludes Saddam Hussein did not have any chemical or biological weapons in 2003. He almost certainly disposed of any stockpiles 12 years ago, when UN sanctions were imposed after the Gulf war. The last factory capable of producing unconventional weapons was destroyed by UN inspectors in 1996. Saddam's ability to produce nuclear weapons was receding, not increasing, on the eve of war in March 2003.

Tony Blair obviously lied to the British public and time will tell exactly what he knew. Earlier this year I took part in a sixth form debate at Wolverhampton Grammar School and was told by the Labour representative that history will judge Blair and the Labour Party's rush to war and I agreed saying that I suspect history would indeed judge Blair, and that he would be judged as a war criminal. It is time for Blair to be honest admit what he knew and resign.
