Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Roz Mascarenhas

This evening I went to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo with an old friend of mine Roz Mascarenhas at the Wolverhampton Civic Centre. Roz used to be on the Management Committee of the British Youth Council when I worked there and was celebrating her birthday today. Ladysmith Black Mambazo were absolutely fantastic as were the two support acts, you could clearly see they were enjoying performing as much as we were enjoying the performance.

Ladymith Black Mambazo are probably most famous for their song Inkanyezi Nazazi which featured on a Heinz advert in 1998. They are from South Africa and much of their music chronicles South Africa from apartheid to the present day and is very emotional.
