Regional Executive agrees Moving Forward Seats

10.00.00pm GMT Fri 3rd Dec 2004

The West Midlands Regional Executive met this evening, to complete the agenda of the meeting that got cut short due to a fire alarm! the Alarm had gone off part way through my report at the last meeting so I was keen to see my report and proposals discussed.

The main proposal I put forward was to create a category of Moving Forward Seats for local parties that are not likely to win in 2004 or even 2009 but want to move forward and grow. The proposal was accepted and the Capacity Building Sub-Committee will now be looking to award this status to a number of seats in January and help them move forward. As with all such schemes the seats will have to fulfil a number of criteria before they are made Moving Forward Seats.
