Prince Harry and that Nazi costume

10.23.00am GMT Thu 13th Jan 2005

How inappropriate is Prince Harry and what was he thinking when he decided to dress as a Nazi? Even if he was a private citizen it would suggest a seriously lack of common sense and/or judgement to wear a Nazi costume to a fancy dress party, particularly as the 60th anniversary of Auschwitz is approaching. Harry though is not a private citizen (and whilst I think he should be) he is third in line to the throne and should have realised this could make the news.

I am not convinced an apology will do any good, however one should be offered forthwith. Harry and his advisers need to think a little more in future to ensure this kind of thing does not happen again.
