European Union Constitution referendum question set

5.00.00pm GMT Wed 26th Jan 2005

The Government has unveiled the question to be asked in the referendum on the EU Constitution. The question will be "Should the United Kingdom approve the treaty establishing a constitution for the European Union?" I will, unsurprisingly, be campaigning for a YES answer.

Not only will I be campaigning for a yes but I think we can the referendum can be won, despite what some opinion polls say. The debate has not even begun yet, most people I suspect are not for, against or even don't know but more don't care yet. When the debate is had I am sure the British public will say yes.
