Tories - No idea on ID

Well last night the Tories showed that they don't really know what they think about ID Card. After having voted with the Government previously they chose to abstain last night on the Report Stage and Third Reading of the the Bill.

I am against ID cards for many reasons, not just because they won't stop terrorists, eliminate benefit fraud, cost billions in taxpayers money but because they are fundamentally illiberal - I am proud it was a liberal but refusing to show his ID Card ensured they were abolished last time we had them and I have grave concerns about what information will be stored upon them and who could access that information.
