Liberal Democrats set to win in Solihull at the General Election11.30.00pm GMT Thu 3rd Mar 2005 Tonight Solihull Liberal Democrats recorded a massive swing of 15.5% from the Conservative in the hotly fought by-election. Whilst the Conservatives held on by 87 votes a similar swing in the General Election would result in the Liberal Democrats winning Solihull with a majority of around 4,000. The full results: Conservatives - 1760 votes - 49.4% Chris Reeves - Liberal Democrat 1673 votes - 46.9% Labour - 133 votes - 3.7%
