Commission for Africa reports

9.20.00pm GMT Tue 15th Mar 2005

The Commission for Africa's report has now been published and was debated in the House of Commons yesterday. Many of the Commission recommendations should be welcomed but the Government needs to act on the report aimed at tackling poverty in Africa.

The Government take action now on corruption, the arms trade, and climate change. The report is being touted as the most radical blueprint in a generation on Africa, in which case why did the Commission not allow for a more radical progress-check?
