General Election called for 5 May

12.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 5th Apr 2005

Earlier today, Tony Blair went to the Palace to call a general election for May 5th. This date was widely anticipated but it is good to have the date confirmed. The next few weeks I will be busy campaigning, knocking on doors and delivering leaflets.

It should be great fun and a new experience as it will be the first time I have stood as a candidate for public office. As a result my website may not be as kept up to date as I would like but I will be trying.
