Shrewsbury and the reaction to Marsden's defection

6.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 9th Apr 2005

I went to Shrewsbury today to help and campaign for my friend Richard Burt. Richard has an excellent chance of being elected as the next MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham. It was also the first opportunity for me to get across to Shrewsbury since Paul Marsden announced he was leaving the Liberal Democrats. The good news is that the electorate do not seem to care what party Paul Marsden is supporting and the even better news is from my canvassing and meeting people in the town Richard and the Liberal Democrats seem to be on the verge of winning.
