Wolverhampton South West result8.14.47am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 6th May 2005 Well after a busy day and busy night we have a result in Wolverhampton South West. I gained 5,568 votes, which was 13.38% of the total valid votes. I am delighted with this result, in 2001 the Liberal Democrats had 3,425 votes or 8.37%, We have moved on a long way since then and I hope to help move Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats forward over the coming years. We took votes from both Labour and the Conservatives and by adding an extra 5% to our share of the vote making us the big winners of the night. The full result was as follows: Rob Marris, Labour, 18,489, 44.36% (-3.9%) Sandip Verma, Conservative, 15,610, 37.45% (-2.28%) Colin Ross, Liberal Democrat, 5,568, 13.38% (+5.01%) Doug Hope, UK Independence Party, 1,029, 2.47% Peter Mullins, British National Party, 983, 2.36% Total poll 41,783 Electorate 66,817 % poll 62.53%
