English Council meeting

10.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 25th Jun 2005

Today the Liberal Democrat English Council met. English Council is the body that governs the Liberal Democrats in England and meets twice a year, I am one of the West Midlands representatives to it.

The meeting mainly discusses membership (the West Midlands membership has increased almost 9% this year and is one of the top three performing regions) and candidate approval and selections. We also had a presentation on the General Election result with an opportunity for us to feed our views in.

As with all these kinds or meetings some of the most useful work is done over lunch, in the corridor or after the meeting and this was certainly true of today.
