The EU Presidency7.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 30th Jun 2005
On the eve of the UK assuming the EU Presidency there are very worrying noises coming out of 'President' Blair. Whilst I do not disagree with him on everything he is saying on EU reform, I am concerned the way he is saying it. If we want to move the EU forward we should be looking to work with our European partners rather than attempt to alienate them as Blair seems to be trying to do. If I was cynical I would be forgiven for thinking that Blair does not want the EU to be reformed, and certainly not in the way I want it reformed, but wants to sabotage the whole thing.
