Mark Hunter and Patsy Calton

Mark Hunter and Patsy Calton

Today I and five colleagues from Birmingham went up to Cheadle to help in the Parliamentary by-election resulted from the sad death of Patsy Calton. We went out canvassing support in the Hazel Grove ward of the constituency seeking support from Mark Hunter in his campaign to be elected.

The response was good, a lot of people saying they had supported Patsy in May who had not previously supported the Liberal Democrats - hopefully they will continue to vote Liberal Democrat to allow us to carry on Patsy's good work.

There were lots of poster up from both the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives, the Conservatives have put out some very negative literature and are fighting dirty - I suspect it will be very close.
