London win the Olympics

Congratulations to the London 2012 Olympic bid team. It had seemed at times, most of the time in fact, that Paris would win the games but London has pipped them at the post. The games are an excellent opportunity to regenerate the East End of London and hopefully London's infrastructure infrastructre (espeicially the transport).

My greatest worry is how much of the rest of the UK will benefit, we have been told there will be events at Villa Park and the Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham so I hope there will be some Olympic spill over in the West Midlands but we shall have to see.
