LDYS Activate/Handover - Day One

7.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 9th Jul 2005

Today was the first full day of the Liberal Democrat Youth and Students (LDYS) Activate/Handover weekend. Activate is a training event for new members to learn more about the party and become active, Handover is the term used for the new Executive's training event which goes on simultaneously. As well as being a Vice-President of LDYS I am one of the trainers for this event.

Today I trained both Activate and Handover. For Activate in the morning we went through the reasons people are motivated to join and be active in LDYS and the Party, in the afternoon we went though some basic campaigning. For Handover we went through what the future holds for LDYS - where LDYS wants to be next year and in five years time as well as holding an Executive meeting.
