The Liberal Democrats gained a Parish Council seat in Malinslee, in Telford, yesterday and came within a handful of votes of taking a second.

The results in full:

Labour - 314 votes

Nicola Holmes - Liberal Democrat - 300 votes

Tony Candlin - Liberal Democrat - 296 votes

Labour - 274 votes

Turnout 15%

One Liberal Democrat gain from Labour and one Labour hold.

The Council is now 7 Labour, 3 Liberal Democrats and 2 Socialist Alternative
