Staffordshire Back to Basics Training

9.00.00pm GMT Sat 6th Aug 2005

Today the second Back to Basics session took place in Stafford, at the Friends Meeting House. Tracey O'Brien, Richard Stevens and myself trained six modules to members from across Staffordshire. Turnout was up on Shropshire's session and we had a some really good attendees who were keen to be trained and find out more.

The training went again well, we are off to Birmingham tomorrow, Warwickshire later in the month and then Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the Black Country later on.

The Modules were as follows:

Module Two - Building a Winning Team and ensuring it stays together - Membership recruitment, retention, members newsletters, social events and fundraising.

Module Three - Communication - Literature (Focus and Surveys etc) - What makes good literature and how best to produce it. Working the media - What makes a good news release.

Module Four - Canvassing and EARS - What data do we want, how do we get it and what do we do with it and use it for.

Module Five - PPERA - The rules and responsibilities that apply under PPERA legislation.
