Not Kosher

8.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 24th Aug 2005

I have spent the last couple of days searching for Kosher food for my housewarming this weekend, without much success. I have at least one Jewish friend coming and wanted to be able to feed him. Tesco's and Morrisons in Walsall and Tesco's, Sainsbury's, ASDA and the Co-op in Wolverhampton do not sell Kosher food.

I had varying responses from the supermarkets and staff concerned to the question "do you sell any Kosher food?" The more ignorant included "Why would we!" to "Is that like Quorn?" the only helpful staff were in Tesco's in Wolverhampton who knew what Kosher food was but could only suggest going to Telford!

I will now be writing to all Head Offices of the supermarkets concerned and asking why they do not stock Kosher food in these branches.
