Re-starting Croatia's talks

Croatia also re-started membership talks with the EU in the early hours of this morning. There was some doubt over whether Croatia would be able to re-start due to its co-operation with the International War Crimes tribunal but the tribunal ruled Zagreb was offering full cooperation.

Croatia's talks were suspended in March and Austria were pushing very hard for Croatia to be allowed to re-start talks even using it as part of the bargaining on Turkey's accession talks.
