Conservatives admit they can't win in Park ward2.56.49pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 14th Oct 2005
Park ward in Wolverhampton is the ward I live in and am working in ahead of next year's Council elections. This week's Wolverhampton Chronicle has a letter from former Conservative Councillor Neville Patten. In his letter Mr. Patten admits that the Conservatives cannot win in Park ward. Mr. Patten states that the ward is such that it is "impossible for any conservative candidate to win", this does not surprise me. The Liberal Democrats on the other hand are their most active for years. Robin Lawrence the Liberal Democrat candidate and his team, of which I am proud to be one of, have been knocking on doors in Park ward talking to local residents and asking about issues that concern them. People have been telling Robin that they now see the Liberal Democrats as the only opposition to Labour and many former Conservatives will be supporting Robin in next May's election.
