Cameron vs. Davies

10.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 20th Oct 2005

The Conservative MPs voted again today and now David Cameron and David Davies will face each other in the run-off election when all Conservative Party members will be voting. Cameron received 90 votes, Davis 57 and Liam Fox was eliminated with 51 votes.

Cameron gained an extra 34 votes, Davies lost 5 votes and Fox gained an extra nine votes (not quite enough to overtake Davies). Cameron is the front-runner with the momentum all going his way. However the Conservative members haven't always agreed with their MPs - it could still be either candidate.
