This afternoon Tony Blair has been heckled by MEPs in Strasbourg. Mr. Blair was making a speech outlining proposals for the remaining two months of the UK's presidency of the European Union.

One of the main reason was his call for the EU to consider nuclear power as part of a common energy policy. Mr Blair also received a slow hand clap when he told them that Europe should accept the deregulation of financial services.

Mr. Blair was met on arrival at the European Parliament by a MEPs, including British Liberal Democrats, waving banners and shouting at him in protest at the secrecy of EU ministerial decision-making process.
