Israeli Ariel Sharon's has left Lukid, the party he helped found and has formed a new political party - Ahrayut Leumit (National Responsibility). His decision has led to the Israeli President to announce their will be Parliamentary elections in March.

Last night the Labour party to left the government last night, depriving Mr. Sharon of his parliamentary majority. Lukid is often seen as the biggest obstacle to peace and if Sharon's new party helps to ensuring peace in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and indeed the whole Middle East then this move will be welcome.
