Tories gain Chadsmead but Liberal Democrats improve share of the vote massively5.17.41pm GMT Fri 16th Dec 2005 Yesterday the Conservative Party won the Chadsmead by-elections from Labour, however Marion Bland and the Liberal Democrats increased their share of the vote from 13.7% to 23.9%. Marion was the only candidate whose party increased their share of the vote, the Liberal Democrats were also the only party to record more votes compared to last time. Well done to Marion and her team. The full results: Lichfield District Council Conservative - 192 votes Labour - 181 votes Marion Bland - Liberal Democrat - 117 votes Lichfield City Council Conservative - 182 votes Labour - 166 votes Marion Bland - Liberal Democrat - 104 votes Green - 35 votes Previous share of the vote percentage based on top polling candidate at the last set of elections.
