Rupert Lorenzo's Christening

9.00.24pm GMT Mon 20th Feb 2006

Yesterday was Rupert Lorenzo Lawrence's Christening, I would have posted yesterday but was feeling a bit fragile after being electrocuted (more later). Rupert is the son of my friends Lexi and Robin and I am greatly honoured to be his Godfather, and hope I can discharge my duty well!

The service took place at the local Methodist Church yesterday morning. The Christening was part of the Sunday service which was really nice as it is Rupert's (and family's) local church, so the normal congregation were there along with additional family and friends, which meant we had a great turnout.

The service was great, they even had the same reading as I read last weekend at Emily's Christening. Rupert was really well behaved - he only cried when I held him! His brother Edwin was also great running around but not causing any problems.

Afterwards we had some Christening cake which Rupert's father made, followed by lunch at the local pub and then back to the family home.

When I got home i managed to electrocute myself on my boiler - thrown back a bit across the room, burnt skin off my fingers (and hurt my teeth) but more importantly learnt a lesson about touching things I shouldn't! Fortunately Sean and Annemarie came round and cheered me up and I am now actively looking for a new boiler - suggestions to the usual place!
