I see Prince Charles is over the news for being a 'political dissident'. Much of what Charles says makes sense, on GM and Organic foods to human rights abuses in China but as a member of the Royal Family and heir to the Throne he cannot make 'political statements'. I think it is time to set Charles free, he should be allowed to make political statements and have his view heard.

Charles as well as being able to say what he wants should even be allowed to stand for election. In setting Charles free to make his statements he would however have to give up his right to be the heir to the Throne.

Here's a thought lets abolish the current Head of State position and allow Charles compete with others to be an elected Head of State, he may even win! The Queen need not worry through I certainly would not suggest that we abolish her, maybe this is something that should seriously be reviewed however for after her reign.

In a 10-page statement Mark Bolland states "The prince used all the means of communication at his disposal, including meetings with ministers and others, speeches and correspondence with leaders in all walks of life and politicians. He was never party-political, but to argue that he was not political was difficult ... These letters were not merely routine and non-controversial ... but written at times in extreme terms ... containing his views on political matters and individual politicians at home and abroad and on international issues."
