Conference, by-elections and boilers2.22.55pm GMT Mon 6th Mar 2006 Bit of a round-up posting today obviously I was at Harrogate Conference all weekend, I have posted a bit about the training Sir Menzies speech already and don't have much more to say apart from it was a good weekend and great to see so many friends again. Last week we also had two by-elections in Warwickshire which the Conservatives held but saw a good swing to the Liberal Democrats - results below. Also the most exiting news of the weekend is that I have a new boiler. Last Thursday we had a District and Town Council in Kenilworth, we recorded a 6% swing and moved from third to second place - full results below: Warwick District Council - Kenilworth St Johns ward Conservative - 890 votes, 48.8% +6.9% Shirley Shilton - Liberal Democrats - 674 votes 37.0% +19.1% Labour - 206 votes, 11.3% -6.8% Independent - 52 votes, 2.9% -10.2% Majority 216. Turnout 31.3% Conservative hold - swing 6.1% Kenilworth Town Council - St Johns ward Conservative - 862 votes, 47.3% Shirley Shilton - Liberal Democrat - 695 votes, 38.1% Labour - 201 votes, 11.0% Independent - 48 votes, -2.6% Oil Beef Hooked No Care Beds - 16 votes 0.9% Majority 167 votes. Turnout 31.35% Conservative hold.
