Jane Leaper and the Liberal Democrats moved into second place in the Werrington Parish by-election and narrowly missed out on taking second place by just ten votes (in a packed field of seven candidates). In the previous election the Liberal Democrats did not stand so can be pleased with these results.

Conservatives - 265 voters

Labour -206 votes

Jane Leaper, Liberal Democrat - 196 votes

BNP - 162 votes

Independent - 83 votes

Mercian (Socialist) - 34 votes

UKIP - 29 votes

Werrington Parish by-election

Conservative - 278 voters

Jane Leaper - Liberal Democrats - 228 votes

Labour - 198 votes

Independent - 135 votes

Independent - 70 votes

Mercian (Socialist) - 40 votes
