That Abu Ghraib photo

Thanks to Edis Bevan of http://politsmk.blogspot.com/ I now know the story behind the famous photograph that come to represent American oppression at Abu Ghraib prison. The photograph was of Ali Shalal Qaissi, he was a leader in his neighborhood and was arrested by the American military after he complained to the media after American soldiers dumped garbage on a small local soccer field!

Edis suggests in the UK a community leader would put this in the local Focus, but Ali Shalal Qaissi got arrested and humiliated at Abu Ghraib prison instead. It also seems that Abu Ghraib prison has still not closed.
