Today Presidential Elections take place in Belarus, I can say with some degree of certainty that they will not be fair or free. Belarus is the last dictatorship in Europe. Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko is the President of the Republic of Belarus, Head of State, the guarantor of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the rights and liberties of man and citizen and I expect today's elections will do nothing to change this.

Belarus is Europe's last dictatorship. The state situated on the borders of the European Union dividing Europe from Russia was once richer than many of the new EU member states, but now under a brutal authoritarian regime has fallen behind. The United 4 Belarus campaign has been set up to awareness of the situation in Belarus in the United Kingdom and the European Union in the run-up to and the aftermath of the March 19th Presidential elections.
