Peerages for Loans arrest

2.10.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 13th Apr 2006

The first arrest in Labour's Peerages for Loans scandal has taken place. According to the BBC Police have arrested a 60-year-old man in connection with their investigation into cash for honours allegations, Scotland Yard said. The man was arrested for an offence under the Honours (Prevention of Abuses) Act 1925, it said in statement. The police have said the man is not an MP or a peer but would not say if he was a member of political party.

I suspect this is just the start...
