Yesterday's by-elections saw three contest I was interested in - Wombourne Parish Council by-election (it being in the West Midlands), Moray Scottish Parliamentary by-election and the Bodmin St. Petroc (as I know the Liberal Democrat candidate)

In the Wombourne Parish Council - South West ward by-election the Conservatives gained the seat from the Freedom Party with 274 votes (52.1), Ian Sadler the Liberal Democrat candidate came very close with 252 votes (47.9).

In Moray the SNP increased their majority but the Liberal Democrats gained the most votes. Richard Lochead won it for the SNP with 12,653, the Conservatives kept second place with 6,268 votes, the Liberal Democrats moved from fourth to third with 5,310 votes and the Labour Party had a disastrous result polling just 2,696 votes.

In Bodmin St Petroc - Arwen Folkes won the by-election for the Liberal Democrats with a whopping 63.9% of the vote (up 23.9%).
