Today saw the dialogue more to Lahore where our discussions concentrated on 'Democracy' there was broad agreement that there is certainly no perfect democracy but Pakistan could be more democratic. There was also a really good discussion about what democracy is and whilst Labour were suggesting that Iraq is now democratic the Liberal Democrats were arguing that democracy is about far more than having had a election or two. We also talked about Kashmir (more in a minute) and in a democracy how you have to accept results even if you do not like them - like with the BNP in the UK but also with Hamas in Palestine - where the cutting off of aid is disgusting just because the US and other countries did not like the result!

Whilst in Lahore we managed to have our first bit of sightseeing - we went to Lahore Fort and Mosque and also saw the Sikh Temple. There were all amazing, we went after-hours and got the fort opened up, during the day it would have been packed and far too hot but in the evening it was lit-up and looked amazing and obviously much cooler.

Tomorrow is a big travel day with us leaving Lahore to go to Islamabad and then Peshawar before returning to Islamabad!
