Policy - ELDR policy meeting and policy reviews4.33.06pm GMT Tue 13th Jun 2006
Last week I went to an ELDR (the European Liberal Democrats) meeting to discuss policy positions that the UK Liberal Democrats will take at the next ELDR Council meeting. Some may have noticed that the Liberal Democrats are having quite a policy review nationally at the moment. I will undoubtedly comment on most of the statements on policy the Party put out but also intend to write my views on a number of issues over the next few weeks and months - you can even choose which topics I will write on in the opinion poll on the right of the website. I have been fortunate to have been elected to the ELDR Council for a couple of years, it is a good forum for discussing many pan-European issues. Last week we discussed four main issues:
We had a good discussion, the finalised text will be coming out in the next week or so, there is lots of good things in there of course there is one of two things I disagree with but that is always the case.
