I have just become a shareholder in Fordhall Farm in Shropshire. Some of you may have seen a report on the West Midlands regional news the other day, the Farm owned by Charlotte and Ben Hollins is in danger of being closed so the land can be developed. The farm is one of the earliest Organic Farms in the country and was farmed by Charlotte and Ben's father Arthur until his death.

The Fordhall Community Land Initiative has until July 1st 2006 to raise the £800,000 required to purchase the land and save it from development. Shares are available in the Farm for £50 for 32 square metres. With just a over a week left they still have about £150,000 to raise - anyone interested in helping can follow the link at the bottom.

Interestingly on my policy poll most people seem to want me thoughts on Rural Affairs and Agriculture so that will be the first policy-essay that I will write, expect to see it in the next week or two.
