Colin Ross training at the Worcestershire Back to Basics session

A previous training session

This afternoon Dave Radcliffe and I trained the Birmingham Hodge Hill Liberal Democrat's selection committee. Selection committees must have some or all members trained before they can advertise for their Parliamentary Candidates - the number needing to be trained depends on what type of seat they are (ie the more winnable the seat the more people need to have been trained).

The training went well, the training mainly covers how to ensure the process is a fair and treat all candidates as fairly as possible. Much of it is common sense but too many selections in the past (across the country) have been held up due to one or more candidate appealing decisions as they feel they have been treated unfairly.

The next step is of course to advertise the seat and invite candidates to apply.
