West Midland Liberal Democrat MPs visit Guantanamo Bay and the US to discuss foreign affairs

The last week has seen two of the West Midlands Liberal Democrat MPs make trans-Atlantic visits to discuss foreign affairs and terrorism. Firstly Paul Keetch, MP for Hereford, visit Washington and Guantanamo Bay. Secondly Lorely Burt, MP for Solihull, has met with senior Senators and Congressmen along with Sir Menzies Campbell and Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs spokesperson Michael Moore.

Paul Keetch was one of seven members of the Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee invited by the US Government to view the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. Mr Keetch and colleagues had two days of briefing from the US administration and on met with the International Committee of The Red Cross, British Ambassador Sir David Manning.
