The BBC is reporting that the police are questioning four Conservative Party donors, including Robert Edmiston. Robert Edmiston is part of the Midlands Industrial Council who have donated to Wolverhampton South West Conservatives previously. I have written about the Wolverhampton South West Conservative donation/peerage connection previously.

The three others who were interviewed according to the Conservatives are - Lord Laidlaw, Lord Ashcroft and Swede Johan Eliasch. The police investigation is looking into whether peerages were offered in exchange for cash. The probe began after it emerged that four businessmen who gave Labour £4.5m in unpublicised loans were subsequently nominated for peerages.
