ELDR Council and Congress in Bucharest

This morning I arrived in Bucharest, Romania, to attend the ELDR Council and Congress. The ELDR Council, which I sit on as one of the eight directly-elected Liberal Democrats, takes place later this morning. The ELDR Congress takes place this afternoon and on Friday.

The ELDR Congress theme this year is "Working together for a secure and free Europe". As well as a number of keynote speeches there will be work on various resolutions and EDLR Bureau elections.

There will also be a session run by the European Liberal Women Network (ELWN) on combating Human Trafficking which I am looking forward too.
