Birmingham Hodge Hill advertises for their parliamentary candidate9.14.18am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 23rd Oct 2006
The Local Party Executive of Birmingham Yardley and Hodge Hill Liberal Democrats invites applications for selection as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Birmingham Hodge Hill. Birmingham Hodge Hill is now most famously know for the by-election in 2004 which the Liberal Democrats just failed to gain. The next election will be fought on new boundaries and the changes are more favourable to the Liberal Democrats. Birmingham Hodge Hill is taking part in the West Midlands Moving Forward Seats programme. The 2004 by-election and 2005 General Election Candidate Nicola Davies is not seeking re-selection. Potential applicants should contact the Returning Officer, Iain Bowen, 15 Coppice Oaks, Coppice Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 9DP or on 0121 4490980 or by e-mail: iain.bowen@gmail.com for an application pack. Completed applications must be sent to the Returning Officer by 12 noon on Saturday 11th November 2006. Applicants not on the Party's list of Approved Candidates at the closing date for applications will not be guaranteed consideration by the Selection Committee. It is the responsibility of applicants to check that their applications have been received by the Returning Officer, by the closing date.
