Latest Poll puts Labour at lowest since 1987

The latest ICM Poll in today's Guardian puts Labour at just 29%, the Conservatives are at 39% and the Liberal Democrats on 22%. This is the lowest rating for Labour since May 1987 (when they were also at 29%).

The polls have been all over the place of recent. What I look for is not the headline figures but the general trend. What we can be certain of Labour has lost ground since the beginning of the year and both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats have moved forward quite considerably. Others are still registering a sizable vote with the Greens and UKIP both on 2% in this poll, Others and even the Liberal Democrats tend to unperform in Polls - especially this far out from an election.
