The Count for the 2007-9 (unlike previously we elected for two years this year) Liberal Democrat Federal Committees took place yesterday, I was re-elected to serve on the ELDR Council for 2007-9. I received 94 first preferences and was elected in third position - my best ever result in the EDLR Council elections, I was only a little under quota - only Jonathan Fryer beat the quota, he was elected first followed by David Bellotti, then I was elected closely followed by Justine McGuinness, the others elected were Catherine Bearder, Peter Price, Jo Hayes and finally Robert Woodthorpe-Browne. Sadly fellow West Midlander Phil Bennion failed to get elected and finished tenth.

Those elected to the Federal Executive were David Rendel, Robin Teverson, Ramesh Dewan, Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Candy Piercy, Tessa Munt, David Williams, James Gurling, Rosalyn Harper, Qassim Afzal, Mike Simpson, Duncan Greenland, Erlend Watson, Richard Clein and Marie-Louise Rossi.

Those elected to the Federal Policy Committee were Sal Brinton, Robert Adamson, Jonathan Marks, Jeremy Hargreaves, Jo Hayes, Susan Juned, Judith Jolly, Alex Wilcock, David Boyle, Phil Bennion, Neil Stockley, Theo Butt-Philip, Julie Smith, Linda Jack and Andrew Duffield.

Those elected to the Federal Conference Committee were Duncan Brack, Sal Brinton, Gareth Epps, Dee Doocey, Chris Maines, Robert Adamson, Ruth Polling, Catherine Bearder, Sue Garden, Jon Ball, Justine McGuinness and Arnie Gibbons.

Those elected to the International Relations Committee were Jonathan Fryer, Robert Woodthorpe-Browne, Marie-Louise Rossi, Karen Freel and Linda Jack.

The results for the Interim Peers has not yet been announced.

Well done to everyone that was elected and commiserations to those that didn't.
