Birmingham Ladywood PPC Selection

8.00.00am GMT Sat 11th Nov 2006

The advert has now appeared for Birmingham Ladywood. Birmingham Ladywood is currently held by Clare Short, elected as a Labour MP now sitting as an Independent, in the 2005 General Election the swing to the Liberal Democrats was one of the highest in the country, with the majority being slashed from 18,143 to 6,801. Clare's resignation of the whip, allied with the previous swing make Ladywood a very interesting seat for the next General Election.

Potential applicants should contact the Returning Officer, Dr. Ann Morrison, 23 Nigel Avenue, Birmingham, B31 1LL, 0121 4773452 or annmorrison@talktalk.net for an application pack. Completed applications must be sent to the Returning Officer by 6pm of Friday 1 December.

The West Midlands Regional Party is running the selection at the request of the English Party due to the special circumstances surrounding this seat.
