Last night was, I think, my last AGM of 2006. I was the guest speaker at Worcester City Liberal Democrats AGM. After all the business was conduct I gave a short speech, followed by questions on, Developing Democracies Overseas - the topic having been suggested by the local party Chair Paul Griffiths.

The speech touched on some of the international work I do/have done for the Liberal Democrats and other organisations such as the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe. I focused on three main areas - my training, election observation/monitoring and international dialogue. I think it went done well, certainly I got some interesting questions and Paul texted me when I got home to say it was good and to thank me.

I was also thanked by one of the members for coming to the AGM as I answered a potentially difficult question for them, we have tried to have more members of the Regional Executive at AGMs this year. Hopefully next year we will have someone at every AGM and improve our communication and co-operation with local parties.
