World AIDS Day - Number of HIV+ case in Wolverhampton drop

1.38.00pm GMT Fri 1st Dec 2006

Today is World AIDS Day, I hope none of us forget those with AIDS today in the UK or elsewhere in the world and also ensure we never forget the need for safe sex and safe use of needles. I fear since the big campaigns in the 1980's and early 1990's public awareness of the need for safe sex has actually reduced.

On the good news front, it was announced this week that the number of new cases of HIV+ has dropped in Wolverhampton in the last year.

There will be a candlelit vigil in Wolverhampton tonight at 6pm - at St. John's in the Square to mark World AIDS Day.
