Afrikana

Walsall has a, relatively, new restaurant - Afrikana. I have wanted to try it for a few weeks and tonight did so with Adi and Mark. Adi studies here in Wolves but Mark is at Leeds and this year is on his placement having just done a stint with Nick Clegg MP in Westminster and is off to Washington DC in January so it was a good opportunity to meet -up.

As I say Afrikana is relatively new and will be a chain with outlets dues to open in other towns and cities across the country. Being a bit of a Africaphile I was keen to try it, Adi used to live in Africa so both of us had eaten African before. I had a pork starter and a wild boar sausage main course, Adi had a not very African starter of olives and a main of Tuna whilst Mark went for a bread starter (a whole loaf!) and a Chicken main. All of the food was good, not completely African but with enough of an African twist to make it worthwhile. They also serve Ethiopian coffee, which Mark had (I don't drink coffee) and he said it was really good.

All in all a good evening of eating and catching up!
