It would appear that the Conservatives have accepted £100,000 from the wife of a foreign arms dealer. Afic Said, the aforementioned foreign arms dealer is barred from making political donations in Britain. He and his British wife Rosemary are accused of exploiting a loophole in the rules to fund the Conservatives.

With the Phillips Report having been delayed will this latest revelation, following on from the Cash for Peerages scandal and the whole Midlands Industrial Council saga serve to remind Phillips to tighter up donations. Lets have a cap on donations and lets make sure that all donations are clear and transparent.

I will in January take down my poll on funding and publish the final results - but you can still vote for a bit longer - its on the right on the main page at www.colin-ross.org.uk
