Two Members of the House of Lords defect from Conservatives to UKIP

12.07.27pm GMT Tue 9th Jan 2007

It feels like a bit of a UKIP day on www.colin-ross.org.uk today this being the third story!

Lord Pearson of Rannoch, and Lord Willoughby de Broke have both defected to UKIP saying that the Conservatives' lack of a "sufficiently Eurosceptic policy". Lord Pearson also described the Conservative leadership of David Cameron as "going in the wrong direction".

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said "I welcome these defections which come on top of many senior Conservatives who have joined us in recent months and I predict many more to come."

With Plymouth and previously Dorset and now this - it really is wins some and lose some for UKIP at the moment.
